Nouvelle Edition de Genève 1979 (NEG)

Pastor and Doctor in theology, Louis Segond was born in 1810 to French parents in Geneva and his translation of the complete bible was published for the first time in 1880. This text has been modernized and was published in 1975 with C.I. Scofield notes and again in 1979 under the name Nouvelle Edition de Genève.

Nouvelle Segond 21

The updating of the Louis Segond translation started in 1994. More thorough than the Nouvelle Edition de Genève, this revision modernizes the language by replacing the obsolete terms and corrects the translation where the revisers consider it necessary. It is based on the Greek and Hebrew original texts. Its motto is reliability, clarity and beauty. The gospels and the New Testament will soon be published and the Old Testament is still in revision.

Life Application Bible

The New Testament of the Life Application Bible in French was published on september 17, 2004. The notes and study helps of the Life Application Bible are presented here in conjunction with the Nouvelle Segond 21 translation. As the name indicates, it focuses on the application of the Biblical teachings to daily life. Article in French

Schlachter translation

The Bible of Franz Eugen Schlacher, the first German translation of this century, was published in 1905, and revised in 1951 by the Bible Society of Geneva. It combines a fluid language and a great fidelity toward the original texts. A new revision was completed in 2002.

Neue Genfer Übersetzung (NGÜ)

A brand new Bible translation characterized by its fluid and modern style. Translated into today's language, it offers an explanation of the implicit meaning of the original text without giving up reliability or exactness and without paraphrase. The New Testament has been partially published.

Nuova Riveduta

Published in 1994, this is a revision of the translation of Giovanni Luzzi, which was itself a revision of the translation of G. Diodati (1576). It offers us a reliable and accurate text. The language is correct, appropriate, lively and very fluid, but without paraphrase of the original text.

In Futunian


This was the first book published in the Futunian language and consequently the first Bible translation for the islands of Wallis and Futuna (French Pacific). The translation was made by Prince Seppeli Tuikalepa and was published in 2001.
